Following a last-minute 18-17 victory over Homeboyz at Ruaraka grounds, Nondies coach Willis Ojal highlighted the need for more clinical execution. "We did not have to wait until the last minute to confirm our victory. We could have scored a bonus-point victory if we were clinical in attack," Ojal stated. The win moved Nondies to fourth in the Kenya Cup standings with 41 points.
Ojal credited his forwards for the result, noting their work rate created scoring opportunities. "Our forwards won us the game. They created a platform and we were able to get over the line in a bruising contest," he said. Injuries forced Ojal to deploy players out of position, complicating his tactical approach. Nondies will face champions KCB on March 16.
Try scorers for Nondies included Ian Njenga, Brian Njenga, and substitute Steve Sumba, with Moses Begi adding a conversion. Homeboyz responded through prop Meshack Akenga and Evan Asena's three penalties. Homeboyz coach Simon Odongo criticized his team's composure in the final moments. "We showed lack of composure in the final seconds of the match. Being in the lead, we needed cool heads to see off Nondies," he said.
