The goal came after KCB defender Bethuel Warambo handled the ball inside the penalty area, leading to the spot kick. Sofapaka's win extends their lead over 12th-placed KCB, which remains at 16 points.
In separate fixtures, Zoo FC defeated Posta Rangers 1-0 at Kericho Green Stadium. Newton Ondari's 43rd-minute strike secured the hosts' third win of the season, further solidifying their position in the league table.
