On July 31, 2019, Everton was closing in on a deal to sign Juventus forward Moise Kean, a 19-year-old Italian player.
The transfer deal, reportedly worth up to £36m, comes as Everton manager Marco Silva aims to strengthen his team before the August 8 transfer deadline.
Moise Kean has impressed with eight goals in 21 games for Juventus, where he joined at the age of 10. He has also scored two goals in three Italy matches.
Everton's record signing is midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson, who arrived from Swansea for £45m in 2017.
As part of their transfer strategy, Everton has sold midfielder Idrissa Gueye to Paris St-Germain for about £30m and winger Ademola Lookman to RB Leipzig for £16m.
Manager Marco Silva has made three signings so far this summer, including midfielder Andre Gomes, who has made his move from Barcelona permanent for over £22m, and goalkeeper Jonas Lossl.
