On July 30, 2019, Turkana Governor Josphat Nanok took to Twitter to deny reports of his hospitalization at Nairobi Hospital. The reports, published in The Star and other local media outlets, claimed that Governor Nanok had been admitted after suffering a mild stroke.

However, Governor Nanok clarified that he was well and at home, urging the public to ignore what he termed as 'media misinformation.'

“I am well and in my residence now. Neither do I have a mild stroke & nobody should wish this on me or anyone. Ignore media misinformation,” Governor Nanok said in a tweet.

The Council of Governors (COG) also weighed in on the matter, dismissing the reports as 'fake news.'

“Let us ignore the FAKE NEWS about His Excellency Governor Josphat Nanok. He is well and is currently at his home having dinner with his family,” COG tweeted.
