On July 30, 2019, Turkana Governor Josphat Nanok took to social media to address rumors of his hospitalization, stating that he was well and at home.
According to reports by The Star and local media, Governor Nanok had been admitted to Nairobi Hospital after suffering a mild stroke.
However, in a tweet, Nanok clarified that the reports were misinformation, saying, “I am well and in my residence now. Neither do I have a mild stroke & nobody should wish this on me or anyone. Ignore media misinformation,”
The Council of Governors (COG) also dismissed the reports as fake news, stating, “Let us ignore the FAKE NEWS about His Excellency Governor Josphat Nanok. He is well and is currently at his home having dinner with his family,”
