Russian Instagram Star Ekaterina Karaglanova Found Dead In Suitcase ¶
On July 26, 2019, Ekaterina Karaglanova's family contacted her landlord after not hearing from her for several days, leading to a shocking discovery in her Moscow apartment.
Ekaterina's landlord and her family found her body stuffed into a large suitcase in the hallway, with fatal stab wounds on her neck and chest. Her legs were sticking out of the suitcase, and she was wearing lace garters.
Ekaterina, a 24-year-old Instagram influencer, had amassed over 80,000 followers on her Kati Loves Life Instagram account. Her last photo was posted from a pool on a trip to Corfu, Greece on July 22, with the caption: "I remember in detail every trip, all beautiful places, funny stories."
According to the BBC, surveillance footage showed Ekaterina's ex-boyfriend entering and leaving her apartment, with police investigating jealousy as a possible motive. There was no evidence of a struggle inside Ekaterina's apartment and no murder weapons have been found.
Ekaterina was planning a birthday trip to The Netherlands with her new boyfriend, which would have been her 25th birthday celebration. In the last year, she had visited various destinations around the world, including Venice, Paris, Punta Cana, and Ibiza.
Ekaterina had also completed medical school and shared her accomplishment with followers, who often compared her to actress Audrey Hepburn on her Instagram account.
