On July 30, 2019, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko took to social media to share a valuable lesson on marriage, drawing from his 21-year-long union with his wife, Primrose Mbuvi.
According to Sonko, the key to a successful marriage lies in treating one's partner with love and respect. He shared a video of a woman speaking gently and respectfully to her husband on the phone, requesting for cash while addressing him as 'mpenzi wangu' (my love).
Sonko urged men to emulate this behavior, stating that for their wives to give them the same treatment, they must love and respect them. He emphasized the importance of balance in marriage, advising men not to love other women more than their wives.
With 21 years of marriage under his belt, Sonko attributed the success of his union to such conversations, urging couples to exercise humility and affection towards each other.
