Monaco's pursuit of Shkodran Mustafi has hit a snag as Arsenal insist on a hefty transfer fee of £27.5m for the German defender.
According to reports, Monaco are keen to sign Mustafi to address their defensive woes, having conceded 57 goals in 38 league matches last season.
Mustafi, who joined Arsenal from Valencia in 2016 for £35m, has featured in 82 Premier League games, scoring seven times.
However, the 27-year-old's error-prone performances have made him a target for criticism from fans, with some reportedly wanting him out of the club.
Earlier, TUKO.co.ke reported that Arsenal talisman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang seemed unfazed by the prospect of Mustafi joining Monaco.
Reports in France claim that Aubameyang liked a post on Instagram suggesting that Mustafi could join the French outfit, but it remains to be seen if the German defender will be allowed to leave the Emirates.
Monaco's interest in Mustafi comes as the club looks to strengthen their defence ahead of the new season.
