July 30, 2019, marked a significant change in Samsung's Galaxy A series naming convention. The Korean tech giant introduced a new naming scheme by adding a zero to the initial naming style, starting from 2019.
This change led to the Galaxy A70 succeeding the Galaxy A7 2018, the Galaxy A80 succeeding the Galaxy A8 2018, and the Galaxy A90 set to succeed the Galaxy A9 2018. However, based on trademarks filed with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), it appears Samsung has other plans for the Galaxy A 2020 series.
According to the trademarks, Samsung is considering a new naming scheme that adds a number after the identifier, rather than a year. This could result in names like Samsung Galaxy A11, Galaxy A21, Galaxy A31, and so on, up to Galaxy A91.
While this new naming scheme seems realistic, it's essential to note that companies like Samsung often file numerous trademarks that they never use. Nevertheless, this leak provides an exciting glimpse into the possibilities for the Galaxy A 2020 series.
