On Day One of the Secondary Schools Term 2 National Games at Kisumu Polytechnic, netball champions Kaya Tiwi Secondary and their bitter rivals Nyakach Girls showcased their dominance in their respective group matches.
Published on July 30, 2019, Kaya Tiwi Secondary started strong, hammering Karuri Secondary from Central 44-15 in their opening Group A match. Monica Oguda led the charge with 24 points, while her sister Melda Oguda contributed 12.
Meanwhile, Nyakach Girls thumped hapless Syumile 61-16 in their Group B encounter. Effie Awuor top-scored for Nyakach with 58 points, with Velma Akinyi adding nine. Justine Tipate scored six points for Syumile.
Other matches saw Bukhoholo from Western beat Cheptil from Rift Valley 40-30, while Baba Dogo from Nairobi humiliated Volunteer from North Eastern 60-03.
