On Tuesday, the Secondary Schools Term 2 National Games kicked off at Kisumu Polytechnic, with several thrilling volleyball matches taking place.
Among the matches, Mogonga Boys from Rift Valley delivered a crushing 3-0 defeat to Lalmokwo Boys from the same region.
According to the Nation, Mogonga's victory was largely due to their strong service and blocks, which were complemented by a solid back court performance.
"We overwhelmed them on the service and blocks which were complimented by a very good back court making it very easy for us," Mogonga coach Jonathan Kiptoo said.
Other matches saw Tetu High School from Central dismiss Shimoni from Coast 3-1, while Bishop Sulumeti Girls defeated Sega from Nyanza 3-1.
Additionally, Soweto Academy from Nairobi was humbled 3-1 by Cheptil Girls from Rift Valley in a closely contested match.
