President Uhuru Kenyatta is scheduled to leave the country on Monday, August 5, for a visit to Jamaica, where he will hold talks with the country's leaders.
According to the State House, the President will be received by Prime Minister Andrew Holness, and the two leaders will discuss ways to strengthen bilateral relations between Kenya and Jamaica.
The visit is expected to focus on enhancing trade between the two countries and exploring the possibility of direct flights between Nairobi and Kingston.
During his visit, President Kenyatta will also deliver a speech at the Independence Day celebrations on Tuesday, August 6.
He is also expected to visit the Bob Marley Museum, a place he has always been a fan of, and the Marcus Garvey Museum.
"During his visit, the President and Prime Minister Holness will discuss the opportunities for improving bilateral relations between Kenya and Jamaica," said State House Spokesperson Kanze Dena.
Prime Minister Holness has invited President Kenyatta to attend the Independence Day celebrations, and the President has accepted the invitation.
President Kenyatta had earlier expressed his desire to visit the Bob Marley Museum in 2017, citing his love for the musician's music and the roots reggae genre.
