On July 30, 2019, an incident occurred at Miami International Airport that led to the placement of two Transportation Security Administration officers on administrative leave.
The officers were removed from duty after an 'offensive display' was discovered in a non-public baggage-screening area, according to a statement from the agency.
"The display was immediately removed and an investigation was launched into who was responsible for the unacceptable behavior," the statement said. "TSA does not tolerate racist or offensive behavior and those found responsible will be held accountable for their actions."
A spokesperson for the airport declined to comment on the incident.
A CBS News reporter tweeted about the incident, stating that the display in question was a noose, but this detail was not confirmed by the TSA in its official statement.
