July 30, 2019, marks a significant day for Bishop Allan Kiuna, who has shared his harrowing experience with cancer. In a heartfelt message, he expressed his gratitude to God for seeing him through a difficult battle with the disease last year.

His words come as the country mourns the loss of several prominent figures, including Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso, who succumbed to cancer at the Nairobi Hospital. The nation is also grieving the passing of Kibra Member of Parliament Ken Okoth and Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore.

Reflecting on his own journey, Bishop Kiuna acknowledged the challenges he faced, saying, 'Am so grateful to God for having seen me through a difficult battle with cancer last year.' He also extended his sympathies to families affected by cancer, stating, 'My heart goes out to families of all those who have cancer.'

His sentiments echo those of Kisumu Governor Anyang Nyong'o, who shared his own cancer diagnosis story in an article titled 'My journey with Prostrate Cancer.' In June 2010, Governor Nyong'o underwent a medical examination, which revealed a rising PSA level, prompting further investigation. A biopsy confirmed aggressive prostate cancer, forcing him to confront the reality of his diagnosis.

As the nation grapples with the loss of loved ones to cancer, Bishop Kiuna's openness serves as a reminder of the importance of awareness and support for those affected by the disease.
