Published on July 30, 2019, Nicolas Pepe, a 24-year-old Ivorian winger, has arrived in London for a mandatory medical at Arsenal ahead of completing a £72m switch from Ligue1 side Lille.

According to reports, Pepe is closing in on a five-year-deal that will make him Arsenal's record signing.

Pepe is currently undergoing his first official Arsenal photo-shoot before his official unveiling.

The Gunners will pay £20m upfront and the balance of £52m in a five-year installment.

Interestingly, this deal comes despite Arsenal reportedly having just £45m to spend in this transfer window.

Already, the club has completed a £27m deal for William Saliba from Saint Etienne, £6m for Brazilian Gabriel Martinelli, and a loan deal for Dani Ceballos from Real Madrid.

Arsenal are still eyeing a move for Celtic's Kieran Tierney for around £25m.
