Family Feud Over Burial Site of Late Kibra MP Ken Okoth

July 30, 2019

Ken Okoth, the late Kibra Member of Parliament, has left behind a family feud over his burial site. His paternal uncles want him buried at Kochia in Homa Bay County, but claims are that they are motivated by a desire to benefit from his parliamentary benefits and insurance.

Okoth's father, Nicholas Obonyo, separated from his wife, forcing the late MP to live with his mother in Kibra. Now, both the mother and father's sides want to be recognized in the burial process.

The other family wants to take responsibility for the burial of late Okoth, who died of cancer. The dispute has left the family in a state of uncertainty, with both sides vying for recognition.
