Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, with the Frenchman citing three reasons for his desire to leave Old Trafford.
According to Spanish publication AS, dated July 27, 2019, Pogba's transfer to Real Madrid is 'inevitable' due to his dissatisfaction with his current situation at Manchester United.
Firstly, Pogba is reportedly frustrated by the repeat of his transfer saga from Juventus to Manchester United in 2016, which became a summer-long saga before the two clubs agreed on a then-world record £89million fee and a five-year contract on August 8, 2016.
Secondly, Pogba is unhappy that he is no longer Manchester United's highest wage earner, having been overtaken by Alexis Sanchez, who arrived from Arsenal 18 months ago and earns £350,000-a-week, £60,000 more than Pogba's £290,000-a-week wage.
Lastly, Pogba believes that his chances of winning the Ballon d'Or are being hindered by his current situation at Manchester United, as he has never finished in the top three of the prestigious award and the team's failure to qualify for the Champions League.
However, Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has hinted that he could persuade Pogba to stay at the club by utilizing him in a deeper role, saying, 'I thought they [Pogba and McTominay] played really well in the first-half... He can play in a two like he does for France but he has also got the freedom of picking his moments, when to go forward.'
