July 30, 2019 - Renowned columnist Njoki Chege has made a significant career move, joining the Aga Khan University as the Director of the Innovation Centre and Projects at the Graduate School of Media and Communications (GMSC).
As the brains behind the popular City Girl column, which has been running in the Saturday Nation for five years, Njoki Chege has hinted at her new role in a previous article dated July 12.
“So, after nine-and-a-half years of working in the media, I have finally left the industry,” she wrote. “It so happened that sometime last month, great folks at Aga Khan University decided that I should work for them and after serious prayer and reflection, I took the decision to give the job a try.”
With her extensive experience in the media industry, Njoki Chege is expected to bring significant networks and connections to the Aga Khan University, with the potential to deepen these across the region.
According to an internal memo seen by Business Today, Njoki Chege was welcomed officially to the Aga Khan University family. In her new role, she will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality value-added services to media innovators and entrepreneurs, and will oversee the proper implementation of the centre’s strategic planning process.
