On July 16, 2019, Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso passed away after a long battle with cancer, leaving behind a legacy of dedication to service and the betterment of the people of Bomet.
Media personality Jeff Koinange, who had hosted Joyce on his TV shows, was deeply affected by her demise. He took to social media to express his condolences, writing:
"Joyce Laboso was a very CHEERFUL and WONDERFUL Leader…DEATH has once again ROBBED us…" "It’s been a TOUGH month folks…Very TOUGH!!…Heartfelt CONDOLENCES to the FAMILY, friends and people of BOMET County!!…Rest in Peace my SISTER"
July has been a tough month for Jeff, who has also lost his friends Bob Collymore, Ken Okoth, and his mother's friend Peter Kenneth.
