On July 25th, President Uhuru Kenyatta led the launch of the Bidco Industrial Park in Ruiru, Kiambu County, as part of the government's ongoing efforts to boost the manufacturing sector.
At the event, the President announced a 30% electricity cost reduction plan, which will be implemented through a rebate system.
The new factory is expected to create over 6,000 jobs, with 1,000 direct opportunities at the facility.
The total investment in the project is estimated at $300 million (Ksh30 billion), with $100 million (Ksh10 billion) already spent.
