Dirty dealings have been exposed at the National Water Harvesting and Storage Authority, with the agency's board facing allegations of illegality.
Engineer Sammy Mburu, an employee of Lake Victoria Water Services Agency, has been illegally deployed to the National Water Harvesting and Storage Authority, where he has been serving as the acting Managing Director.
However, Mburu is neither an employee of National Water nor the Ministry, meaning that he has been signing contracts illegally.
According to sources, the board, led by David Nkadayo, has been coerced by a powerful individual to appoint Mburu despite his poor performance at the interview.
It is also alleged that Mburu is a relative of Water PS Joseph Irungu, who has been praised by politicians for favoring Muranga County in water projects.
Irungu has been accused of signing contracts illegally, including the multimillion Narok Dam, Migori Dam, and River Kuja projects.
Among the other names forwarded for appointment as Managing Director are Engineer Tom Odongo, Engineer Andrew Wanyonyi, and John Nyambu Malombe.
