Former US First Lady Michelle Obama has offered heartwarming parenting advice to Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, in the latest edition of British Vogue.

Published on July 30, 2019, the magazine features Meghan Markle as its guest editor for the September issue.

Michelle Obama was interviewed by Meghan Markle earlier this year, when the Duchess was pregnant with her son Archie. The two women had a casual lunch of chicken tacos, during which Meghan Markle asked her about the most beautiful sound she had ever heard.

Michelle Obama shared her own experiences as a mother, saying: 'When Malia and Sasha were newborns, Barack and I could lose hours just watching them sleep. We loved to listen to the little sounds they'd make - especially the way they cooed when they were deep into dreaming.'

She also advised Meghan Markle to 'savour' the early years of parenthood, saying: 'Time expands and contracts; each moment holds its own little eternity. I'm so excited for you and Harry to experience that, Meghan. Savour it all.'

Michelle Obama's words of wisdom come as Meghan Markle and her husband Prince Harry prepare to celebrate their son Archie's christening at Windsor Castle.
