The Kenya Secondary School Sports Association national Term Two netball championship kicked off on July 30, 2019, with Nyakach Girls taking on Bukoholo Girls of Western Region at the Kenya Polytechnic grounds in Kisumu.
As the defending champions Kaya Tiwi Girls look to retain their title, Nyakach Girls are seeking redemption after losing to them in last year's final.
Head coach Sally Keta expressed her team's readiness for the competition, saying, "The games are finally here and it's up to the girls to win it. We have done all the necessary preparations as a team and we look forward to a very competitive and fruitful outing."
Nyakach Girls will later face Eastern's Syumile Mixed, who have been consistent in their performance and are making their third consecutive appearance at the games since their debut in 2017.
Other teams competing in the championship include Rift Valley giants Cheptil Girls and defending champions Kaya Tiwi Girls.
