Controversial gold dealer Zaheer Jhanda has made shocking revelations about the gold scandal, which has taken a political twist. According to Jhanda, four MPs from the Rift Valley approached him to involve Raila Odinga and CS Matiang'i in the scandal for political reasons.
During an interview, Jhanda clarified that Raila Odinga and Fred Matiang'i were not involved in the sour deal, which originally involved a payment of Sh 400 million to some Kenyans who had promised to unlock the five-month stalemate.
Jhanda also denied being in Dubai at the time he was alleged to have tried to make Raila talk to Dr Matiang'i on phone to intervene in the release of the gold consignment.
The businessman revealed that he was contracted by a Dubai-based company to deliver gold worth Sh 30 billion from Congo for Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. He now claims that politicians have infiltrated the deal.
Jhanda maintained that no gold has been lost, stating, 'No gold has been lost. The gold is still in Congo and to the best of my knowledge, no money has been paid.'
