On Sunday, a Renault Formula One truck was involved in a crash on the motorway while en route to the Hungarian Grand Prix. The incident occurred near Gyor, Hungary, on the M1 motorway.
According to a Renault statement, the driver was conscious and had not suffered serious injury. He was transported to the hospital for further checks.
The truck was traveling from Germany, where the team had competed in the German Grand Prix on Sunday. The team's drivers, Daniel Ricciardo and Nico Hulkenberg, had both retired from the race due to mechanical issues.
Renault is currently sixth in the constructors' standings, three points behind Toro Rosso. The team will be hoping to bounce back at the Hungarian Grand Prix this weekend.
Team boss Cyril Abiteboul reflected on the team's disappointing display at the German Grand Prix, saying, "It was an emotional rollercoaster with highs and lows. Unfortunately, we’re finishing on a low with two retirements."
