July 29, 2019 - In a bid to conquer the continental and international hammer-throwing scenes, national champion Dominic Abunda is gearing up for the upcoming major championships.

Abunda, a 26-year-old from Suneka in Kisii County, holds the national record of 61.38 meters, achieved at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, Australia where he finished 16th.

At this year's Kenya Defence Forces championships, Abunda threw a distance of 61.54 meters, a feat he believes could be the key to breaking through to the next level.
