Former Jubilee Party chairman David Murathe has dismissed claims that Deputy President William Ruto contributed significantly to President Uhuru Kenyatta's wins in the 2013 and 2017 presidential elections.
Speaking in an interview with KTN, Murathe stated that Ruto's supporters should not claim that Uhuru used their leader to win the elections and then abandoned him because Uhuru had many supporters who would have joined him.
According to Murathe, Uhuru had many supporters who would have joined him, and the main reason for working with Ruto was to bring unity between the Kikuyu and Kalenjin communities.
“There is no issue of using Ruto here. If it's about winning elections, there were other people working with Uhuru. Their union was to help communities put aside their differences,” Murathe said.
Murathe, who has become a vocal critic of Ruto, stated that Uhuru had many supporters who would have joined him, and the main reason for working with Ruto was to bring unity between the Kikuyu and Kalenjin communities.
He also stated that Ruto is a corrupt leader who is not fit to hold any elective office in Kenya and that he will take him to court to prevent him from vying for the presidency in the 2022 elections.
