On Monday, Bandari midfielder Danson Chetambe Namasaka received a 42-inch television from LG and a trophy from the league sponsors at Mbaraki Sports Club in Mombasa.
Namasaka, who played a key role in helping Zoo Kericho escape relegation last season, said winning the award has ignited more fire in his belly and he will bid to help his side win a silverware.
He added, 'I am so pleased to win this award. It was a tough month because we were fighting relegation, I am honoured that my effort has been recognized today though not with Zoo but now at Bandari.'
Chetambe's sparkling form saw him play an integral role as Zoo saw off Ulinzi Stars and Western Stima in similar 2-1 win scoreline before humbling Kakamega Homeboyz 3-2.
He garnered 19 votes in a poll conducted by the Sports Journalists Association of Kenya (SJAK) two ahead of Tusker winger Boniface Muchiri who emerged second.
