Paris St-Germain is on the verge of signing Senegal international Idrissa Gueye, with the Everton midfielder set to undergo a medical in the French capital.

According to reports, Gueye, 29, will join the French champions for a fee of over Sh3.1 billion (£25m), a significant increase on the Sh892 million (£7m) he was signed for by Everton from Aston Villa in 2016.

Gueye has made 108 appearances for the Toffees in all competitions and has been a key player for the team, known for his tackling prowess. In fact, no player in the Premier League attempted more tackles than Gueye last season, with 89 of his 142 tackles won.

His departure from Goodison Park comes just a week after winger Ademola Lookman left for RB Leipzig, and manager Marco Silva is expected to make further signings before the transfer deadline on August 8.

Despite the loss of Gueye, Silva has been busy strengthening his squad, signing midfielders Andre Gomes and Fabian Delph, as well as goalkeeper Jonas Lossl.
