Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso, the first female governor of the county, has passed away after a long battle with cancer.
Laboso, who had been receiving treatment in London and Indian Hospitals, was brought back to Kenya two weeks ago and admitted to the Nairobi Hospital.
She was visited by several leaders, including opposition leader Raila Odinga, while she was in London.
Laboso died on Monday afternoon, July 29, 2019, at the Nairobi Hospital.
