Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso, 58, has passed away at a Nairobi hospital, where she had been under observation and on full bedrest.
According to a statement from her office, Laboso was recuperating but still required close monitoring.
Dr. Joyce Cherono Laboso served as the second Governor of Bomet County and previously held the position of Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Kenya in 2017.
