On Monday morning, a devastating road accident occurred on the Mwea-Embu highway in Kirinyaga County, claiming the lives of three people and leaving one seriously injured.
The accident involved a lorry ferrying miraa, which reportedly hit a boda boda carrying three passengers from behind, killing them instantly.
The boda boda rider miraculously survived with serious injuries and was rushed to Karira Mission Hospital for treatment.
According to eyewitnesses, the lorry was speeding at the time of the accident.
The miraa vehicle was towed to Sagana Police Station, while the three bodies were taken to Karira Mission Hospital mortuary for further processing.
