On July 29, 2019, Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso was admitted to a Nairobi hospital, where she has been in the ICU for the past two weeks.
According to her family, Governor Laboso had returned to the country two weeks prior, after a two-month stay in India and the United Kingdom seeking treatment for an undisclosed condition.
Her return had ended weeks of speculation among residents who had been inquiring about her medical progress at her home and office.
