Published on July 29, 2019, a front-page story in the Standard Newspaper claimed that President Kenyatta dodged Ruto during his arrival from an official trip in Zambia.
According to the newspaper, President Kenyatta used the passenger terminal, leaving Ruto waiting at the presidential pavilion.
However, Deputy President Ruto took to Twitter on Monday to disown the claims, calling the paper 'desperate.'
“FAKE NEWS ALERT!!! I was nowhere near JKIA. I am NOT surprised that some media houses & their owners are this desperate. Tuwasamehe tu!!” Ruto tweeted.
