On July 30, 2019, the Top Fry Classic Rally will kick off from the prestigious Mount Kenya Safari Club in Nanyuki, marking the beginning of a thrilling three-day event.

Organized by the Rift Valley Motor and Sports Club of Nakuru, the rally has attracted a total of 23 entries, including five foreign crews, who will be competing in the beautiful Laikipia areas.

According to Lyn Tundo, a senior official organizing the Classic Event, the 2019 edition will run from July 30 to August 3, covering approximately 600kms of competitive stages through uniquely stunning expanses of Northern Kenya.

The event will be flagged off by Laikipia Governor Ndiritu Muriithi, and the drivers will be tackling three competitive stages per day at an average of 250kms per day, with the final day featuring a single long competitive stage of 100kms.

Among the star-studded entry list are former winners Raaji Bharij and Rajay Sehmi, who will be driving their Porsche 911, and two-time winner of the East African Safari Classic Rally, Ian Duncan, who will be navigating with Anthony Nielson in a Rover V8.

Geoff Bell, a South African driver, will be competing alongside Lola Verlaque and Edward Verlaque in a VW Golf Mk1, while Megan Verlaque will also be driving a similar car. Joey Ghose, a former Kenyan rally driver, will be representing Oman in a Ford Escort Mk1, and Tanzanians Jayant Shah and Arshad Khan will be driving a 3000cc Porsche.

Four-time Kenya National Rally champion Carl Tundo, who recently finished as runner-up in the KCB Safari Rally in a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo102, will be competing in a Triumph TR7, co-driven by Tim Jessop.

“We are serious and determined to give a good shot. I will target top positions or even win it,” said Tundo.

Additionally, Kabras Team has entered three drivers, led by Safari Rally Champion Baldev Chager/Ravi Soni, Onkar Rai/Gareth Dawe, and Tejveer Rai/Gavin Laurence, all driving 30000cc Porsche 911s.
