Published on July 29, 2019, Mbooni Boys, a rising sports powerhouse from the Eastern Region, are set to make their debut at the 2019 secondary schools national Term Two games in Kisumu.

The team's handball squad finished second at this year's Term One games and secured a spot in the upcoming East Africa games in Arusha, Tanzania.

Coach Dominic Maingi expressed his team's eagerness to emulate their handball team's success, saying, "We are not only inspired but challenged too because the handball team set high standards and have shown the way and proved that it can be done."

With many of last year's teams failing to return to the national scene, Mbooni Boys have a chance to prove their worth and potentially become new champions.

However, they face a tough challenge in Group B, where they will compete against Kisumu Day, Nairobi's Dagoretti High, and Ebwali from Western.

The team's first test will be against Dagoretti, who finished fourth last year. Mbooni Boys will rely on strikers Danny Oroto and Peter Loishorua to score goals, while Joshua Nzangili and Edwin Kevolwe will marshal the midfield.

Bramwel Ojiambo and Antony Kyalo will be tasked with shielding goalkeepers Jumaa Rumba and Patrick Musembi from opponents.
