Deputy President William Ruto's 2022 presidential bid has sparked opposition from a group of politicians, who are now targeting Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu over graft allegations.
Waititu, his wife Susan Ndung'u, and other county staff have been accused of irregularly awarding tenders worth Sh580 million.
Nominated MP Maina Kamanda, who is part of the Kieleweke group, said the corruption allegations facing Waititu were serious and he should step aside.
Speaking in Olkalau, Nyandarua County, Kamanda criticized Elgeyo-Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen for saying that a certain community and DP Ruto allies were being targeted in the war on graft.
