On Sunday, July 28, 2019, Deputy President William Ruto cautioned politicians against politicizing the fight against corruption, urging them to allow agencies mandated with the task to do their work.

Speaking at St. Anne Kibiko Catholic Church in Kibiko, Kajiado County, Dr. Ruto emphasized that politicians had no role in the investigation and prosecution of graft cases, citing the Constitution's mandate to independent institutions.

“Do not politicise the fight against corruption. The responsibility of fighting corruption has been given to independent institutions by the Constitution,” said Dr. Ruto.

Dr. Ruto also warned Jubilee leaders to be cautious of individuals seeking to tarnish the party's reputation and impede President Uhuru Kenyatta's legacy. He claimed that these individuals aimed to make Kenyans believe that the Jubilee administration had failed in its promises to the people.

Other leaders present at the church service included Governor Joseph Ole Lenku, MPs George Sunkuiya, Caleb Kositany, Jonah Mburu, Kwenya Thuku, Gladys Shollei, and Janet Teyiaa, among others.

Mr. Ole Lenku and other Jubilee leaders echoed Dr. Ruto's sentiments, emphasizing the party's focus on development and unity. They cited various achievements, including the construction of roads, power connections, and free secondary education.
