On July 28, 2019, a video went viral on social media showing Francis Muse Liseche, known as Moi, beating a suspected chicken thief in Shinyalu, Kakamega County.
According to the DCI, Moi was arrested along with three other suspects, including the owner of the allegedly stolen chicken.
However, it has since been reported that the suspect who was beaten in the video died while receiving treatment at a hospital.
DCI officers were praised by the public for their swift action in arresting Moi and the other suspects.
