On Sunday, Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu's wife, Susan Wangari Ndung'u, presented herself to the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) in Nairobi, hours after her husband's arrest.

Her husband, Governor Waititu, was arrested at the EACC offices on Sunday morning, and three other county officials are currently being held at the EACC police cells.

According to the Director of Public Prosecutions, Noordin Haji, there was sufficient evidence to charge the couple, who allegedly embezzled Sh588 million through irregular procurement for upgrading several roads within Kiambu County.

On Friday, Haji ordered the arrest of the governor, his wife, and 11 others over the alleged embezzlement.

On Monday, the governor, his wife, and their co-accused are expected to be arraigned in court.
