South African singer Lira, known for her soulful voice, has announced her separation from husband and manager Robin Kohl in a heartfelt Instagram post.
Published on July 28, 2019, Lira stated that she and Kohl are currently living separately but are engaging in the future of their marriage of many years.
She added that the bond they formed over the years will remain and requested for privacy as they navigate this difficult time.
"To all my beloved fans, friends, family and business associates, it is with great sadness that I announce my separation from my husband of many years, Mr Robin Kohl," Lira wrote.
"Robin and I are currently living apart and are in the process of deciding the future of our marriage. We have had a long and fruitful marriage and business relationship and have formed a strong bond that will remain, whatever the outcome of our time apart," she added.
"In the meantime, Robin and I sincerely request that our privacy be respected during this difficult time. We thank you in advance for your understanding," Lira's statement concluded.
Notably, Lira's announcement comes under a month after fellow songbird Nhlanhla Nciza of Mafikizolo announced her separation from husband Thembinkosi "TK" Nciza.
Nhlanhla Nciza, similarly, stated that her split from TS Records executive after 15 years was amicable and assured her fans that they will remain in good terms and continue to co-parent their children.
