GSU Officer Shot Dead at Wilson Airport, Guns Stolen

On July 27, 2019, two GSU officers were ambushed at Wilson Airport in Nairobi, leaving one dead and the other injured.

According to police, the two officers were approached by four individuals who claimed to be police officers, seeking assistance with a broken-down vehicle.

The GSU officers, unaware of the deception, decided to help the individuals, who then attempted to disarm them.

One of the GSU officers was shot in the head and killed, while the other was shot in the leg and taken to a hospital for treatment.

Police later discovered that the attackers had stolen the GSU officers' guns.

Lang'ata Police Station Commander Gregory Mutiso confirmed the incident, stating that the police had found spent cartridges at the scene.
