On July 28, 2019, singer Vivian Wambui became the latest celebrity to face online body-shaming.

She had shared a photo of herself wearing a pair of red pants and a top, but some of her followers felt she looked uncomfortable in the outfit.

Reactions to the photo included comments such as 'Hii mwili tuirudishe penye ilikuwa sister… I fear' from PoetKeya Msafiri John and 'Umenona sana' from jackiekenddy.

Another follower, Cyrus Shikanga, joked that she looked like she was going to war, saying 'Heey kwani unaenda vita?'

Some of her followers even went as far as to suggest that her hairstyle had overstayed its welcome, with Unbothered Keshi Njogu advising her to change it, saying 'Toa nywele sasa imekaa.'
