Published on July 28, 2019, Senator James Orengo has offered to represent Deputy President William Ruto in court if he is implicated in the Kimwarer and Arror dams scandal.

Speaking in Elgeyo Marakwet, where the two dams are to be constructed, Orengo challenged Ruto to explain what he meant when he alleged that only KSh 7 billion was in question.

"I am asking Ruto to record a statement about this dams saga. I am ready to help him record the statement and also represent him in court," Orengo said during a funeral attended by opposition Chief Raila Odinga.

Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Alex Tolgos promised to work with the former premier in the fight against graft within and without the county.

"I was insulted by some Rift valley leaders when I called for a probe into the dam saga. We now want our money recovered so that the projects continue," Tolgos said.
