October 9, 2017 - A court has declared Cyrus Shakhalaga okhwa Jirongo, a former presidential candidate and Member of Parliament for Lugaris, bankrupt.

According to a ruling by Justice Olga Sewe of the commercial division, Hon. Jirongo had failed to repay a loan of approximately 700M shillings to Sammy Kogo, a Nairobi businessman.
