On June 9, 2019, the fate of the 2018/19 National Super League (NSL) title was decided in a thrilling finale.

Wazito, Kisumu AllStars, and Nairobi Stima were neck and neck, separated by just one point, with the top three teams vying for promotion to the Kenya Premier League (KPL).

Wazito topped the league with 78 points, while AllStars and Nairobi Stima trailed closely behind with 77 points each. However, AllStars' superior goal difference gave them an edge.

The stage was set for an explosive showdown at the venues where the three title contenders were playing their final matches of the season.

At Camp Toyoyo grounds in Nairobi, Wazito crushed St Joseph Youth 7-1, mirroring AllStars' 7-1 thrashing of Thika United at Thika sub-county Stadium.

Meanwhile, in Eldoret, Nairobi Stima edged out Eldoret Youth 4-2, but it was not enough to overcome AllStars' superior goal difference.

Ultimately, Wazito secured promotion to the KPL with 81 points, while AllStars earned direct promotion with 80 points after two seasons in the NSL. Nairobi Stima finished third due to an inferior goal difference.

Although Nairobi Stima had a chance to feature in the topflight through the KPL promotion playoff against Posta Rangers, the mailmen emerged victorious, beating them 3-2 on aggregate to maintain their KPL status.

Green Commandos, Thika United, and Kangemi All Stars were relegated from the second tier to the National Division One league.
