Published on July 27, 2019, Arsenal are on the verge of signing Nicolas Pepe, an Ivory Coast international, from Lille in a deal worth £72 million.

The Gunners have reportedly agreed to pay the player's agent a significant fee, placing them in pole position to agree personal terms with Pepe.

Pepe, who has also been linked with Manchester United and Liverpool, could be an alternative to Ivory Coast team-mate Wilfried Zaha as Unai Emery looks to strengthen in the wide areas.

Arsenal's failure to win any title last season and their loss in the 2018/19 Europa League final against Chelsea in Baku have prompted Unai Emery to plan hard for the Gunners to compete for the Premiership title next season.
