A five-year-old girl was allegedly defiled by a school bus conductor in Mombasa on July 15, 2019. The incident occurred at Mount Sinai Primary School in Likoni, Kwale.

According to the girl's parents, they reported the matter to the school management on the same day, but the conductor was missing when they went to enforce an arrest. The parents claim that the school officials had information about the conductor's whereabouts but refused to call him.

The school manager denied reports of a cover-up, but declined to state whether he knew the conductor's whereabouts. The suspect, identified as Everton, is believed to be in Teso South sub-county and may be trying to flee the country.

Police in Mombasa have launched an investigation into the incident, and a report was received on July 15, 2019. The suspect is still at large, but police are working to track him down.

On July 27, 2019, The Standard reported that the victim had identified her attacker by name because she uses the bus to and from school daily. A medical examination at Likoni District Hospital revealed that she had been defiled.

On July 27, 2019, Likoni DCIO Charles Onyango told The Standard that a report of the incident was received and an investigation launched. He stated that the suspect is well known and that police are doing everything to track him down.
