On July 27, 2019, the Ugandan capital was abuzz with excitement as Tanzanian superstar Diamond Platinumz took to the stage at the Lugogo-based UMA grounds for the Comedy Store show.
Despite his tumultuous past with Ugandan socialite Zari, who was also in the country as a judge for the Miss Uganda competition, Diamond's performance left the crowd in stitches. His energetic dance moves and captivating stage presence won over the audience, who were largely unfamiliar with Swahili.
With his dancers providing a visual treat, Diamond's performance was a masterclass in entertainment, with the crowd singing along to his hit songs despite not understanding the lyrics.
Other notable performers of the night included Kenyan comedian Eric Omondi, King Saha, and local Ugandan talent.
The Comedy Store show was a huge success, with fans queuing up as early as 4:00 PM to secure front-row seats.
