On July 10, 2019, Patrick Nderitu, the owner of 'Pimp My Ride East Africa', filed a case against the Nairobi County Government to prevent the demolition of his business.
The court case was sparked by an eviction notice presented to Nderitu by Nairobi County officers, which he claimed was a scheme to gain access to his property after the deadline.
However, the county officials insisted that the building had been constructed illegally, a claim Nderitu denied, stating that he was in lawful possession of the property and had a lease agreement.
On Friday, the court struck out the case for lack of jurisdiction, dealing a blow to Nderitu's business.
It's worth noting that the carwash was demolished in May 2019, despite assertions by the manager, James Saitoti, that they had not been served with any notice of eviction or court order.
Earlier reports had suggested that Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko had taken action against Nderitu due to his involvement in the destruction of a school and a church in Buruburu Phase Four.
